February 18, 2026/in Grants, News

Cranston, RI – The Pocasset Pokanoket Land Trust, an organization that supports indigenous communities throughout the Northeast, received a $160,000 general operating grant from Point32Health Foundation. The funds support coalitions and organizations that advance community-led initiatives to drive civic engagement and improve health outcomes.

“I want to thank Point32Health Foundation for their belief in our abilities to provide services to our indigenous communities and others,” said Sequan Pijaki-Qusamequin, Executive Director of the Pocasset Pokanoket Land Trust and Chairman of the Pocasset Tribe of the Pokanoket Nation. “This grant gives us an opportunity to bring generations together to create healthy medicine through food and foster healthier care of our minds, bodies and spirits.”

This grant is one of 24 new investments totaling $1.8 million from the philanthropic arm of Harvard Pilgrim Health Care and Tufts Health Plan, Point32Health Foundation.

“These investments strengthen organizations that lead with community voices and priorities,” said Kristin Lewis, president of the Point32Health Foundation and executive vice president of Point32Health. “By investing in their missions, we can help create lasting, transformative change across the communities we serve.”
