PPLT successfully completed the purchase and deployment of the PPLT Mobile Food Hub, a producer-centered mobile food hub designed to serve Indigenous, Black, and other farmers of color across Massachusetts. Based at Global Village at Tuck Away Farms and owned and operated by PPLT, this infrastructure addresses critical gaps in regional food distribution by providing wash, pack, and aggregation capacity that supports small-scale producers and expands access to fresh, locally grown food in environmental justice communities.
We need help to purchase essential interior kitchen equipment, refrigeration, food preparation tools, serving supplies, and cover the first year of operating costs—including insurance, fuel, licensing, maintenance, and programming. These investments will transform the trailer into a fully functioning Mobile Food Hub that can prepare healthy meals, host cooking and food preservation workshops, aggregate produce from local farms, and deliver fresh food where it is needed most.
